My Story

Kristie MAH  is a re-birth of what was formerly Velvet Plume Clothier for the past 18 years. Kristie is a self-taught clothing designer, seamstress, basket maker and fine art painter. She has travelled and vended at festivals for 20 years and has sold her original fine art paintings all over North America.

Kristie MAH creates a 100% handmade, eco-friendly and sustainable clothing line that stand the test of time; in her Winnipeg-base artist studio. Each design is an original pattern by Kristie and uses organic and sustainable fabrics. Kristie has also incorporated her original images for screen printing that can be found on select designs and are printed using inks that are less toxic to the environment. 

Kristie MAH includes one-of-a-kind rope baskets that are handcrafted in her home studio with naturally dyed cotton rope. Kristie originated the FORAGING basket which is a unique design versatile in function. She has renamed her design the HARVEST basket and is available as the perfect accessory to her clothing line.

Kristie is in charge of it all; single mom to three beautiful children, designing, cutting, sewing, photography, editing, modelling, marketing, social media, communication, shipping and graphic design. Each design was thought up in an inspired vision and brought to fruition; with loving intention and great attention to detail.
